Samyang Foods (003230) maintained its strong upward trend, breaking the 1.3 million won mark despite the activation of the Volatility Indication Auction (VI) during trading hours.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 29th, a static VI for Samyang Foods was activated at 10:22:18 a.m. and lifted at 10:24:37 a.m. Even after the VI was lifted, buying pressure continued to flow in, sustaining the upward momentum.
As of 10:32 a.m., Samyang Foods is trading at 1,302,000 won, up 119,000 won (10.06%) from the previous trading day. It has surpassed the 1.3 million won mark during the session, recording a double-digit gain.
Around the same time, the domestic stock market showed a mixed performance. While the KOSPI was up 0.12% from the previous trading day at 6,030.92, the KOSDAQ traded at 688.71, down 2.42%, failing to escape its weak trend.
Amid diverging trends in the two major indices, Samyang Foods is showing clear strength compared to the broader market. Some market participants are closely watching whether the upward momentum will continue following the VI lifting and whether the stock can stabilize above the 1.3 million won level.
However, some point out that premature predictions should be avoided given the highly volatile nature of the current market conditions.
