Samsung Electronics is showing a sharp upward trend on the 31st as the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism was successively triggered early in the trading session.

The stock was trading at 241,500 won, up 16.66% from the previous trading day, quickly recovering the 240,000 won level. This is as of 9:00 AM.

On this day, after a dynamic VI was triggered during the pre-market NXT (non-regular trading hours) session at 8:00 AM, a static VI was also triggered immediately after the regular market opened at 9:00 AM, indicating high volatility.

VI is a system that switches to single-price auction trading for a certain period when an individual stock price changes rapidly by more than a certain margin within a short time, in order to protect investors and stabilize the market.

The overnight gains in the U.S. New York stock market, driven by strength in the semiconductor sector, have led to improved investment sentiment in the domestic market, resulting in a concentration of buying in Samsung Electronics.

Market attention is focused on whether Samsung Electronics' double-digit rally can continue further, and whether such strength will spread to other domestic semiconductor stocks such as SK Hynix and the broader KOSPI market.
