KBS Drama channel's new drama 'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce' is set to premiere on August 19 at 11 PM. Lee Min-jung and Kim Ji-seok team up in this work, which depicts the realistic divorce process of a married couple who run a wedding dress shop together.
Lee Min-jung takes on the role of Baek Mi-young, the CEO of the wedding dress brand 'G&White.' She is a workaholic devoted to her work who harbors complex emotions as her family falls apart. In recently released stills, she showcased the character's inner world in detail, alternating between a professional demeanor and a bright smile with anxious eyes. Kim Ji-seok plays Baek Mi-young's husband, Ji Won-ho, adding tension to the series.
Regarding the Baek Mi-young character, Lee Min-jung explained, 'She is someone who tries to solve everything on her own, bearing her sadness and pain by herself.' She continued, 'Her personality of not wanting to rely on others is similar to mine, so I think there is a high synchronization rate.' She revealed that she chose the project because she found the realistic love story of two people finding their way to each other appealing.
To portray her character, Lee Min-jung studied topics related to wedding dresses and referenced the stories of actual wedding dress company CEOs. She also put in detailed effort, such as writing in a diary format while imagining the past of Baek Mi-young and Ji Won-ho. Regarding her acting chemistry with Kim Ji-seok, she said, 'Our chemistry was great, and an even more multifaceted Won-ho emerged than originally expected.'
Finally, highlighting the keyword 'another beginning' for the drama, Lee Min-jung shared, 'It is a story about starting again at what feels like the very end.' She also conveyed her hope that many viewers would empathize with Baek Mi-young's story.
Meanwhile, 'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce' was produced under the direction of Joo Sung-woo, with a screenplay by Hwang Ji-eon and production by Canvas E&T. It will premiere on the KBS Drama channel on August 19 at 11 PM.
