The English YouTube channel 'KOREAZ,' operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has surpassed one million subscribers and received the 'Gold Button' from YouTube.

KOREAZ, which stands for 'All about Korea A to Z,' has been introducing South Korea's foreign policy, knowledge, and culture to overseas audiences through digital content since 2021. Various segments, including 'Focus,' which highlights foreign policy; 'Weekly,' which covers the diplomatic activities of overseas diplomatic missions; and 'Special,' which explores K-Initiative and regional cities, have continuously attracted interest from global viewers, driving the channel's growth.

The subscriber count surpassed 100,000 in November 2023 and increased to one million just two and a half years later, reaching 1.08 million as of the 5th. This is the second-highest number among English YouTube channels operated by government and public institutions, following the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'VISITKOREA' channel, which has 1.28 million subscribers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs analyzed that active summit diplomacy and growing global interest in Korean culture created a synergy effect for KOREAZ's growth. A ministry official stated, "We will continue to actively respond to the changing media environment and further strengthen global communication to promote public diplomacy that connects with the world together with the public."

Meanwhile, to commemorate receiving the Gold Button, KOREAZ has released a thank-you video and is also holding an event for its subscribers.
