Professional golfer Mo Joong-kyung claimed his throne, achieving his seventh career victory and second win of the season on the KPGA Champions Tour.

At the 'KPGA Rashban Prestige Open' (total prize fund of 100 million KRW) held on July 4 and 5 at the East-West Course (par 72) of Ferum Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, Mo climbed to the top by recording an 8-under-par 136 over the two days. With this victory, he secured the winner's prize of 24 million KRW.

Mo, who started the first day of the tournament tied for sixth place, completed a dramatic comeback victory in the second round. He appeared to be shaken after recording a double bogey on the third hole (par 3), but he exploded with a total of eight birdies, including four consecutive birdies from the 10th to the 13th hole. After firing a 6-under-par 66 in the second round, he lifted the inaugural trophy of the newly established tournament with a final total of 8-under-par.

In the final standings, Jang Ik-jae and Choi Ho-sung tied for second place at 5-under-par 139, while Son Jun-ho finished fourth at 4-under-par 140. Lee In-woo rounded out the tournament in fifth place at 3-under-par.

Meanwhile, Mo, who boasts a career record of five KPGA Regular Tour victories and two Asian Tour wins, has consistently demonstrated his prowess by winning events such as the Chammaru Construction Senior Open last season. With his steady course management in this tournament as well, he once again proved himself to be a dominant force on the Champions Tour, the senior stage for players aged 50 and above.
