LEENO Industrial recovered a substantial portion of its intraday losses on the KOSDAQ market on the 14th but ultimately ended trading slightly lower. As demand for high-performance test sockets driven by the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market is cited as a medium- to long-term growth driver, the stock displayed marked volatility throughout the day, swinging between the high 60,000-won and low 70,000-won ranges.

■ Market Price: Closes at 70,800 Won... Rebounds About 2.9% From Intraday Low

According to the Korea Exchange, LEENO Industrial closed the day at 70,800 won, down 500 won from the previous trading day, a decline of 0.70%. The stock opened at 72,200 won, recording an intraday high of 72,300 won and a low of 68,800 won. Trading volume was tallied at 725,587 shares with a trading value of approximately 51.1 billion won. The day's closing price and rate of change were also confirmed identically in external market data.

The stock's trajectory differed markedly between the early session and the afternoon. LEENO Industrial, which traded in the 72,000-won range shortly after the open, fell quickly as selling pressure intensified in the morning. In particular, around 10 a.m., the stock dropped to 68,800 won, briefly breaching the 70,000-won level. However, the mood reversed at the low point. The stock rebounded from the high 60,000-won range and recovered the 70,000-won mark, trading mainly around 70,000 won in the afternoon. It ultimately closed at 70,800 won, pulling up 2,000 won from its intraday bottom, or roughly 2.9% above the low.

■ 'Test Sockets,' Essential for AI Semiconductor Inspection... Securities Firms' Growth Outlooks Keep Coming

The key words the securities industry uses in viewing LEENO Industrial remain AI and high-performance semiconductors. LEENO Industrial is a company that develops and produces semiconductor inspection probes known as 'LEENO Pins' and IC test sockets in-house. Test sockets are components used in the process of inspecting whether manufactured semiconductors work properly, and as semiconductor performance and structures grow more sophisticated, the importance of inspection technology can grow alongside them. In particular, the expansion of the AI inference market and global big tech companies' moves to develop their own semiconductors are cited as one of the major growth narratives surrounding LEENO Industrial.

Kiwoom Securities analyzed in May that demand for semiconductor test sockets would increase amid the expansion of the AI inference and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) markets. The firm judged that rising demand for test sockets for high-performance semiconductors could also contribute to an increase in average selling prices. It also cited the trend toward higher-spec smartphones and growing demand for medical device components as factors supporting earnings.

Shinhan Investment & Securities likewise cited, in June, increased demand for high-value-added sockets driven by the expanding AI market as a key growth factor for LEENO Industrial. At the time, the firm analyzed that LEENO Industrial's first-quarter operating profit had risen 35% year-on-year to 47.3 billion won, with an operating margin of 47.4%.

The earnings growth trend has also continued. LEENO Industrial's consolidated revenue last year came to 372.5 billion won, up 33.9% from the previous year, of which test socket revenue amounted to 243.9 billion won, accounting for 65.5% of total revenue.

■ Short-Term Supply-Demand Variables Persist... What Lies Ahead as Checkpoints

However, a solid industry growth outlook does not necessarily mean a one-way rise in the stock price. Semiconductor component stocks can see their price swings widen even in the short term depending on global IT demand, clients' new product development schedules, exchange rates, valuations, and institutional and foreign supply-demand conditions. Indeed, on this day LEENO Industrial fell sharply from the 72,000-won range in the early session to 68,800 won before recovering the 70,000-won level. In effect, the medium- to long-term growth narrative of AI semiconductors and short-term supply-demand pressures are simultaneously at work within the stock price.

Going forward, checkpoints are expected to include how much the expansion of the high-performance semiconductor market, including ASICs for AI, translates into actual test socket orders, changes in the product mix between LEENO Pins and test sockets, and whether the earnings growth trend continues.
