Bitcoin showed weakness over the weekend, falling back to the $77,000 range after recovering the $80,000 level, as it gave back part of its recent sharp gains. Market attention is now focused on the future price direction.

As of 4:59 p.m. on the 29th, Bitcoin was trading at $77,650.25 according to CoinMarketCap, down 2.54% from 24 hours earlier.

■ Fails to Settle Above $80,000... Weekend Correction Continues

Bitcoin recently reclaimed the $80,000 level, showing a strong upward trend. On the 25th, it surpassed $80,000 for the first time since May, and at one point rose above $81,000.

However, after the rapid short-term price increase, profit-taking movements emerged, pushing the price back below $80,000. The correction continued over the weekend, with Bitcoin briefly dipping below $77,000 during the day before recovering that level.

■ Ethereum, Ripple and Other Altcoins Fall Together... Only Zcash Shows Strength

Major altcoins were also mostly weak. At the same time, Ethereum was down 2.37% over 24 hours at $2,436.70, while Binance Coin (BNB) fell 2.65% to $687.93. Ripple (XRP) dropped 2.67% to $1.38, and Solana declined 2.60% to $103.71. Hyperliquid fell 3.25% to $81.39, and Dogecoin dropped 3.58% to $0.08442.

In contrast, Zcash rose 0.31% to $792.96, showing relative strength among major coins.

■ 'Defending $77,000' vs. Further Correction

The virtual asset market, which had staged a steep rebound recently, appears to be catching its breath over the weekend. In particular, whether Bitcoin can hold the $77,000 level and make another attempt to recover $80,000, or undergo further correction and give back more of its gains, is seen as a key variable that will shape the future market sentiment.
