Remixpoint Sells Off All Altcoins Including XRP and Dogecoin... Keeps Only 1,506 BTC in Bitcoin

Remixpoint, an energy and digital asset company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan, has disposed of all the altcoins it held and retained only Bitcoin (BTC).
■ XRP, Dogecoin, and Others Sold Off Entirely in a Single Day
According to CoinGateP, Remixpoint announced in a disclosure on September 2 (local time) that it had sold all of its Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE) on September 1 (local time). The total proceeds from the sale amounted to 878,814,569 yen (approximately $5.5 million), leaving Remixpoint with only about 1,506 BTC in virtual assets. CoinGateP reported that this sale made Remixpoint's Bitcoin-centric asset holding strategy even more distinct.
Specifically, Remixpoint sold 901.44 ETH, 13,920 SOL, 1.19 million XRP, and 2.8 million DOGE in a single day. According to CoinGateP, the book value of these assets totaled 761 million yen, and the company generated a profit of 117,772,649 yen (approximately $737,000) from the sale. Ethereum and Solana accounted for the majority of the profit. A small profit was also made on XRP, but Dogecoin was the only asset that recorded a loss. CoinGateP reported that the Dogecoin sale recovered 3.25 million yen less than the purchase cost.
■ A 'Planned Strategy Conclusion' Amid Market Turmoil
The sale took place as the virtual asset market was shaken significantly. CoinGateP previously reported that Bitcoin fell below $77,000 on September 1 (local time) as risk-off sentiment spread following new U.S. military strikes. Even in that situation, Remixpoint completed the sale while posting profits across its entire altcoin portfolio based on book values at the start of the fiscal year. CoinGateP assessed that this sale demonstrates the conclusion of a planned strategy rather than a panic-driven selloff in response to the market plunge.
■ A Different Path from Other Companies
Other companies are moving differently from Remixpoint with regard to the same assets. According to CoinGateP, SharpLink resumed purchasing Ethereum, and DFDV, which holds Solana as an asset, also resumed buying SOL as its price rose above $100. CoinGateP evaluated Remixpoint's move as unusual compared to digital asset holding companies that continue to accumulate altcoins.
Remixpoint's decision has also drawn attention to the growing Bitcoin-centric asset holding trend in Japan. However, CoinGateP noted that Remixpoint is taking a different path from companies like Metaplanet. According to CoinGateP, Metaplanet, Japan's largest Bitcoin holding company, recently purchased an additional 2,823 BTC and launched 'Superplanet' in the United States, showing moves to use Bitcoin as collateral. In contrast to Metaplanet's rapid expansion of Bitcoin-related businesses, Remixpoint chose to dispose of its altcoins and channel the funds into its large-scale power grid battery business.
■ Bitcoin as a 'Yield-Generating Asset'... Altcoin Lending Returns Negligible
According to Remixpoint's disclosure, Bitcoin also generated income during the holding period. CoinGateP reported that from February to August 2026, the company earned 14.92 BTC through Bitcoin lending, worth approximately 164.21 million yen at the time. In August alone, it earned 2.48 BTC, approximately 31.15 million yen. During the same period, income from lending out Ethereum and Solana totaled 29.87 million yen. Based on these figures, CoinGateP interpreted that Remixpoint views Bitcoin as both a reserve asset and a yield-generating asset, while judging that altcoin lending returns are not large enough to justify the operational complexity.
■ Full XRP Selloff Draws Attention Amid Japan's Regulatory Changes
In particular, the complete selloff of XRP draws attention as it comes amid moves to change Japan's virtual asset regulations. According to CoinGateP, a bill is being promoted in Japan to treat Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP similarly to stocks, which could lower virtual asset-related tax rates to around 20%. At the same time, CoinGateP reported that SBI Holdings continues to expand XRP-related infrastructure businesses, while gaming company Gumi is adding both BTC and XRP. Accordingly, CoinGateP viewed Remixpoint's XRP sale not as a signal that Japan as a whole is divesting from XRP, but as a case of one mid-sized asset holding company reducing its risk.
■ Global Companies' Digital Asset Strategies Diverge
Around the world, corporate digital asset holding strategies are also shifting. According to CoinGateP, Strategy permitted the sale of Bitcoin for credit and dividend purposes. However, Michael Saylor stated that the company would maintain a net Bitcoin-buying stance overall. Among small Japanese companies, CoinGateP reported that ANAP has also joined the ranks of Bitcoin-holding companies.
■ 117.8 Million Yen in Sale Profits... Channeled into Battery Business
The approximately 117.8 million yen profit Remixpoint earned from this altcoin sale is expected to be booked as revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, ending September 30, 2026 (local time). According to CoinGateP, the sale proceeds will be invested in expanding its battery storage business and enhancing shareholder value.
