Lee Eun-gyeol's 30th debut anniversary commemorative show 'ONE OF ONE' successfully concluded its roughly two-week Seoul run at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Arts Center on September 6. The performance, which began on August 22, captured the essence of illusion and stage art that Lee has built up over 30 years.

A New Performance Language Combining Video, Music, and Lighting

Rather than simply reproducing his past signature works, 'ONE OF ONE' organically combined various elements such as video, music, lighting, and stage sets to newly express a performance language of his own.

On stage, grand illusions and objects, delicate movements, shadows, and video were connected as one, delivering narrative and emotion along with visual spectacle. In particular, the show drew attention by utilizing the spatial characteristics of the Sejong Arts Center's Grand Theater to present existing illusions and new performances on an expanded scale.

Scenes reflecting on Lee Eun-gyeol's performing career were placed throughout the stage, naturally blending past and present performances, and the stage itself showed the process of one magician growing into an illusionist.

In addition, emphasizing communication with the audience, the show drew the audience's gaze and imagination into the performance, breaking down the boundary between stage and seats. Wonder at the phenomena on stage, the stories behind them, and the harmony of music and video heightened the immersion of the performance.

'A Stage Celebrating the Past 30 Years and Previewing the Next 30'

'ONE OF ONE' is a stage that both commemorates Lee Eun-gyeol's past 30 years and previews the next 30. Rather than stopping at reproducing past successful repertoire, he actively introduced new technologies and direction, presenting the future of illusion performances.

Since debuting with street performances in 1996, Lee has crossed between broadcasting and stage, contributing to the popularization of illusion in Korea. He is credited with developing magic into a comprehensive performance content combining music, video, stage art, and performance, rather than mere tricks or spectacle.

National Tour Continuing Through Busan, Yongin, Incheon, and Pyeongtaek

Having finished its Seoul run, 'ONE OF ONE' is set to meet audiences across the country at venues including the BEXCO Auditorium in Busan, Po'eun Art Hall in Yongin, the Grand Performance Hall of the Incheon Culture & Arts Center, and the Pyeongtaek Art Center.

Conceived under the concept 'From No.1 to Only1,' the show, which encapsulates Lee Eun-gyeol's own unique stage world, concluded its Seoul schedule as a stage that demonstrated the expansion potential of illusion performances in Korea.
