Ethereum (ETH) is showing stronger price momentum than Bitcoin (BTC) on a daily chart basis. While both assets maintain an uptrend in their medium-term structures, Ethereum is leading in short-term price strength.

■ Ethereum Leads in Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Returns

As of the 12th, Ethereum was recorded at $2,533.57. Its daily change was up approximately 0.70%, higher than Bitcoin's 0.12% rise. Over the past 7 days, Ethereum gained 3.16% while Bitcoin fell 2.94%. The 30-day gains were 34.79% for Ethereum and 21.80% for Bitcoin, showing Ethereum's edge in medium-term performance as well.

■ Ethereum Also Stronger in RSI and Price Position... Superior Short-Term Buying Pressure

In terms of price position, Bitcoin is at $77,315.99, about 4.03% below its recent 7-day high. Its RSI(6) stands at 42.19, near the lower end of the neutral zone. Meanwhile, Ethereum is about 4.97% below its recent 7-day high but has rebounded about 5.31% from its recent low. Its RSI(6) is 64.93, higher than Bitcoin's, indicating relatively stronger short-term buying pressure.

■ Trend Structure: MA and SuperTrend Both Maintain Uptrend

Both assets remain in an uptrend structurally. Bitcoin and Ethereum are both trading above MA7, MA25, and MA99, and SuperTrend remains in an upward direction. In terms of the medium-term moving average structure, the uptrend has not yet been broken.

■ Short-Term Caution: MACD Dead Cross Signals Remain

However, there are cautionary signals in short-term momentum indicators. Bitcoin's MACD showed a dead cross 8 days ago, and Ethereum's 11 days ago. Even if the uptrend continues, it is difficult to rule out a pattern of alternating rebounds and corrections in the short term.

■ Volume and Large-Order Fund Flows Favor Bitcoin

Volume requires careful interpretation as the daily candle has not yet closed. Current ongoing volume is at about 0.30 times the recent 7-day average for Bitcoin and about 0.25 times for Ethereum. Net inflow rate based on large orders was 4.27% for Bitcoin and 2.72% for Ethereum, with Bitcoin higher. While Ethereum leads in price movement and RSI, Bitcoin holds the advantage in the ratio of large-order fund inflows.

In the short-term market, it can be seen that Ethereum is leading price momentum while Bitcoin shows relative strength in fund inflow indicators.

■ Differences in Asset Characteristics... Ethereum's Elasticity Grows When Risk Appetite Spreads

The differing characteristics of the two assets may also influence price reactions. Bitcoin has a strong character as a benchmark asset reflecting overall risk appetite in the virtual asset market, while Ethereum has greater exposure to on-chain ecosystem activities such as smart contracts, DeFi, and tokenization. Accordingly, Ethereum's price elasticity may grow larger in periods when market risk appetite spreads beyond Bitcoin to altcoins and the on-chain ecosystem. Conversely, if risk aversion intensifies, the possibility that Ethereum's volatility will exceed Bitcoin's must also be considered.

■ Key Points to Watch Going Forward

Looking at the current trend alone, Ethereum appears stronger than Bitcoin in recent 7-day and 30-day returns as well as RSI. However, with MACD bearish signals remaining for both assets, the continuation of the trend should be confirmed alongside trading volume and whether recent highs are retested and broken.
