The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that it reviewed 31 pilot projects and selected 8 new job types for the '2026 Senior-Friendly Senior Jobs' program.

Connecting Finance, Digital, and Tourism with Social Demand and New Senior Experience

This selection focused not merely on increasing the number of jobs, but on connecting areas of social demand—such as finance, digital technology, safety, environment, law, tourism, and culture—with the experience of the new senior generation.

The selection process comprehensively reviewed whether the tasks are suitable for older adults to perform, the value provided to local communities, participants' work capabilities, whether actual places of demand for the work have been secured, and whether the program can be expanded to other regions.

Notable Project: Small Business Policy Finance Reassurance Companion Team

One notable project is the Gwangju Nam-gu Senior Club's 'Small Business Policy Finance Reassurance Companion Team.' Participants with relevant work experience, such as retiring from financial institutions, visit local small business owners directly to guide them on policy funds and assist with online application processes. They also take on the role of monitoring and reporting illegal or unfair practices related to policy finance.

Eleven people participated in this project this year. They conducted 73 in-person consultations and supported applications for approximately 105 million won in policy funds. There were also 89 cases of monitoring or reporting irregularities.

The government began discovering new forms of senior jobs in 2019. It has steadily identified job types distinct from existing programs, with a total of 70 selected through 2025.
