South Korea has advanced to the men's football final at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

[Football] Two headers subdue China... One step closer to a fourth consecutive title

South Korea defeated China 2-1 in the men's football semifinal held at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan. The team conceded the opening goal to China's Wang Yudong 22 minutes into the match, but Lee Young-jun headed in a corner kick from Um Ji-sung in the 33rd minute of the first half to equalize. Although South Korea struggled against China's packed defense in the second half, Bae Jun-ho finished off another cross from Um Ji-sung with a header in the 37th minute to score the go-ahead goal. With this victory, South Korea moved one step closer to challenging for a fourth consecutive Asian Games title.

[Commentary] Lee Young-pyo and Nam Hyun-jong on the turning points

KBS commentator Lee Young-pyo had predicted before the match that the difference between the two teams would be a single goal. At the moment of the equalizer, he said, "It would be a shame to drag this match into extra time. It seems fair for South Korea to win by a score of around 2-1." Regarding the refereeing decisions, he expressed frustration, saying, "We can see it even from here (the broadcast booth), so how can they not see it?" Caster Nam Hyun-jong described the equalizing goal, saying, "Um Ji-sung marked the coordinates, and Lee Young-jun put the final period on it." Commentator Lee Young-pyo praised Um Ji-sung's cross on the go-ahead goal as a "match-winning cross."

[Archery] Silver in the mixed team event, bronze in the women's team event

In the compound archery mixed team event, Park Jung-yoon and Choi Yong-hee competed and won the silver medal in the final against India. South Korea, which had been trailing through the third end, tied things up in the fourth end before losing the shoot-off 19-20. In the women's team bronze medal match, Park Ye-rin, Park Jung-yoon, and Kang Yeon-seo edged out Taiwan 229-228 to claim the bronze medal.

[Broadcast] KBS archery broadcast receives praise

Commentator Ki Bo-bae analyzed during the match that athlete Huang Yirou tends to make mistakes under pressure when matches become tight. After the match, caster Jang Sung-kyu shared his thoughts, saying, "I hope the sincerity the athletes put into each and every arrow reached your hearts as well." Jang Sung-kyu, who took charge of KBS's archery broadcast for the first time at this Games, teamed up with commentator Ki Bo-bae to deliver an engaging on-site presentation and expert commentary, earning strong reviews.

Under the slogan "A Moment of Unity Once Again, the Asian Games Also Belong to KBS," KBS is accompanying viewers throughout the 16-day competition period.
