With Doosan Enerbility (034020) entering a breather after closing slightly lower on the previous trading day, market attention is focused on the stock's movement on the 6th, as a new week begins.

■ Previous session closed at 81,400 won... Defending the 80,000-won level is key

On the previous trading day, Doosan Enerbility finished at 81,400 won, down 700 won (0.85%) from the prior session. Attention is focused on whether the stock can lay the groundwork for a turnaround this week, despite the decline. However, whether it can defend the 80,000-won level is seen as the key issue.

■ Core variable is 'large-scale Korea-US nuclear cooperation'

A key variable to watch is the large-scale nuclear cooperation between Korea and the US that has recently taken shape. According to the government, the two countries have agreed to pursue a nuclear framework involving an investment of up to $120 billion to build a total of eight large nuclear power plants in the United States.

Notably, an agreement has been reached to revise the accord with Westinghouse of the US, which had been a major constraint on the export of Korean-designed nuclear reactors. This paves the way not only for Korean nuclear technology to enter the US market but also for reducing the burden of technology licensing fees.

In this project, not only the construction of Korean reactor designs but also major domestic construction firms and suppliers of key equipment and materials are expected to participate extensively in the process of building Westinghouse reactor designs. In addition, with discussions on government and private-sector participation in Westinghouse stakes becoming concrete, expectations have grown further for structural benefits from joint entry into global third-country markets such as Europe, beyond the US.
