Eddie and the Vibrics took first place in '2026 Rookies on the Block,' a rising artist discovery project of the Busan International Rock Festival, leaving a strong impression on the K-pop scene and the band scene.

A total of 289 bands participated in this year's preliminary round, recording an unprecedented level of competition. Eddie and the Vibrics, who fought through the fierce preliminaries and finals, claimed the glory of the final victory.

On stage that day, the band performed songs from their new EP 'inbetweeners,' released on the 30th of last month, for the first time. Their unwavering live performance and signature emotive sound drew explosive responses from the audience that filled the venue.

Vocalist Eddie said shortly after the win, "I never expected to win, so I'm still stunned. Seeing the audience singing along and jumping around on stage even brought tears to my eyes." He added, "I plan to invest the prize money primarily in our music work and also actively use it for producing visual content."

Eddie and the Vibrics is a talented four-member band consisting of vocalist Eddie, guitarist Han Sung-won, bassist Oh Jun-seok, and drummer Kim Yi-chan. The band has built a musical world that blends deep, nostalgic sensibility atop a polished Britpop sound.

Having already taken major stages including the '2026 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival,' the band has been winning praise from both the public and critics. Attention is now focused on the unique musical journey of Eddie and the Vibrics, who have risen to the ranks of next-generation leading bands with their Britpop sound representing the subtle emotions of youth.
