KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' will spotlight the musical world of Park Keun-tae, a central composer in Korean popular music.

A special broadcast has been scheduled over two days, on the 10th and 17th. In the first part of episode 775, singers from various genres who have close ties with Park Keun-tae will appear and present new renditions of his signature songs.

Since Lula's 'Meeting on the 100th Day' in 1994, Park Keun-tae has produced hit songs spanning generations and genres, including Sechs Kies' 'Pomsaengpomsa,' Sung Si-kyung's 'We Match Pretty Well,' Baek Ji-young's 'Don't Love,' and IU's 'End of a Day.' Releasing music in diverse styles such as pop, ballad, dance, and hip-hop for more than 20 years, he is regarded as a central composer of Korean popular music.

■ Cast and Song Lineup

A total of 10 acts will participate in the special: Ok Ju-hyun, KCM X DK, Huh Gak X Kim Ye-chan, HYNN (Park Hye-won), EVAN, Kim Hee-jae, Park Jung-ah, Daybreak, Woody X Bora, and Seong-ri. They will stage performances paying tribute to Park Keun-tae's music across genres including trot, band, and ballad.

The song selections are also diverse.

▲ Ok Ju-hyun – Lee Sun-hee's 'Among Them, I Meet You' ▲ KCM X DK – SG Wannabe's 'Timeless' ▲ Huh Gak X Kim Ye-chan – Baek Ji-young's 'Don't Love' ▲ HYNN – Ailee's 'Evening Sky' ▲ Kim Hee-jae – Park Sang-min's 'Sunflower' ▲ Park Jung-ah – Eco's 'Happy Me' ▲ Daybreak – Jewelry's 'Super Star' (reinterpreted as a band version) ▲ Woody X Bora – Jo PD's 'My Friend' ▲ Seong-ri – Shinhwa's 'Brand New' ▲ EVAN – Tashannie's 'Warning'

■ HYNN and Park Jung-ah Return After 7 Years

Notably, HYNN (Park Hye-won) will take the stage again and challenge for the win, seven years after appearing on 'Immortal Songs – Hitmakers Who Led an Era: Composer Park Keun-tae Edition.' At the time, as a rookie just eight months after her debut, she sang Baek Ji-young's 'Don't Love' and received praise from Park Keun-tae, who called her 'the ultimate master of subtlety.'

Park Jung-ah will also return to the stage in this special, drawing on her experience from appearing alongside HYNN and Seo In-young seven years ago.

Meanwhile, 'Immortal Songs,' a music variety program with a history of more than 700 episodes, airs every Saturday at 6:05 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
