Nuclear power plant-related stocks fell across the board on the domestic stock market. Major nuclear power stocks such as Doosan Enerbility, KEPCO E&C, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) declined together, while some stocks like Woori Technology and Orbitech posted even steeper losses.
Looking at the closing trends of major nuclear power stocks on the 8th, Doosan Enerbility finished trading at 76,700 won, down 4.7% from the previous trading day. KEPCO E&C also failed to avoid weakness, recording 120,600 won, down 5.6%. KEPCO closed at 29,100 won, down 3.1% from the previous session, and KEPCO KPS, a company involved in power generation facility maintenance, recorded 43,650 won, down 1.6%.
The stocks with the largest declines were Woori Technology and Orbitech. Woori Technology recorded 11,640 won, down 6.0%, showing a relatively large drop among major nuclear power-related stocks. Orbitech finished trading at 4,945 won, down 4.5%, and Woobin closed at 12,360 won, down 4.7%.
Most other stocks also declined. Susung Industrial recorded 21,200 won, down 2.5%, and Mobis closed at 3,050 won, down 2.0%. Kumha PSC recorded 33,050 won, down 1.1%, and Daechang Solution recorded 1,887 won, down 0.1%.
The only stock to hold steady was Woobin Entec. Woobin Entec finished trading at 14,130 won, the same price as the previous trading day, relatively holding its ground while major nuclear power-related stocks generally declined.
Attention is also focused on future trends. On the next trading day, interest is expected to focus on the stock price movements of major nuclear power stocks such as Doosan Enerbility and KEPCO E&C, and on whether Woori Technology and Orbitech, which posted large declines, will rebound.
