■ Key Variable for International Gold Prices: 'Fed's Rate Decision'

Attention is focused on the future interest rate decisions of the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) as a variable that could influence international gold prices.

The minutes of the September Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, released by the Fed on the 7th (local time), showed that the possibility of an additional rate hike within the year remains valid. A considerable number of meeting participants favored raising the benchmark rate once more before the end of this year.

However, opinions among committee members varied regarding the rate hike decision, and it was understood that no consensus was formed on the need for immediate action at the meeting to be held on the 27th and 28th of this month.
