T1 will officially launch its limited-edition 'T1 x Minions Collection' on October 13. The collaboration with Universal Products and Experiences is significant as it marks the first time NBCUniversal in the United States has approved turning esports players into Minions characters.
The collection features characters of five LCK players from T1: Doran (Choi Hyun-jun), Oner (Mun Hyeon-jun), Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok), Peyez (Kim Su-hwan), and Keria (Ryu Min-seok). Each player's personality and play style are expressed with the Minions' signature cheerfulness, blended with T1's symbolic red and black colors. Through player-specific character merchandise, fans can encounter their favorite players' familiar sides in a new way.
The Minions are iconic animation characters representing Illumination. The collaboration is drawing significant attention for bringing together Faker, the renowned League of Legends player, and the Minions. With T1's global fan base combined with the Minions' popularity, interest is also growing in overseas markets.
T1 CEO Joe Marsh said, "This collaboration is a symbolic moment that breaks down the boundaries between global esports and entertainment," adding, "Universal's exceptional approval of characterizing T1's players demonstrates T1's unparalleled global standing and influence. We expect it to deliver special joy and new experiences to fans around the world."
The 'T1 x Minions Collection' will be available from October 13 at T1's official online shop and offline stores.
Meanwhile, T1 will compete in the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, which opens in Los Angeles on October 16. T1 will begin play in the Swiss stage starting October 24 in Allen, Texas, with the finals scheduled for November 15 in Brooklyn, New York.
