Comedian Lee Sang-jun conquered Taiwan's local cuisine in just one day.
Episode 8 of the YouTube content series 'Lee Sang-jun's Faraway Eateries' featured Lee Sang-jun visiting Taiwan and experiencing a variety of local foods.
On this day, Lee Sang-jun visited a Taiwanese burger restaurant with 60 years of tradition, selected by Michelin, and tasted a combination of dongpo pork rice bowl and cucumber. He then sampled Kavalan whiskey, Taiwan's representative whiskey, and at a beef noodle specialty restaurant, he took on beef noodles with stinky tofu.
Hesitating in front of the stinky tofu, Lee Sang-jun finally took a bite, and upon putting the food in his mouth, his legs trembled. When the production team suggested that if he ate more stinky tofu, they would give the staff foot massages, Lee Sang-jun replied, "There are seven of you, so should I massage you for seven hours on the plane?" After the additional tasting, he shared his impressions, saying, "Now I want to remove my tongue, and I feel like my toothbrush would melt if I brush my teeth."
A special incident also occurred during the night market tour. Lee Sang-jun received a compliment from a Korean tourist, who said, "Oppa, you're so handsome!" and handed him money as an allowance. After tasting chicken skin sausage and sweet potato balls, he described them, saying, "It's not just delicious, it's insanely delicious." Lee Sang-jun, who had preferred Japanese food, also showed affection for Taiwanese food that day.
At the end of the trip, an incident unfolded at a foot massage shop where he had to receive a massage while holding an umbrella indoors because of water dripping from the air conditioner.
On his way home, Lee Sang-jun named the night market as the most memorable place.
Meanwhile, episode 9 of 'Lee Sang-jun's Faraway Eateries,' featuring a tour of restaurants in Osaka, Japan, will be released on YouTube on the 23rd at 5 p.m.
