Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) reversed its early-morning decline on the 19th and closed higher, recovering the 1.2 million won level.

The stock started lower right after the opening bell but turned the tide on incoming buying interest, ultimately finishing the session at 1.22 million won, up 2.69% from the previous trading day. The fact that it recovered from its early sluggishness and defended the 1.2 million won level is drawing attention to the stock's future direction.

The broader market also escaped its shaky start and closed higher together. The KOSPI index ended trading at 5,768.01, up 99.96 points (1.76%) from the previous session.

■ Supply Contract Worth 360.4 Billion Won for Semiconductor Package Substrates

Alongside the stock's movement, a newly announced supply contract also drew attention. Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced in a regulatory filing on the 19th that it had secured a contract to supply semiconductor package substrates to a major overseas company. The contract amount totals approximately 360.48776 billion won.

However, the specific identity of the counterparty and detailed terms of the deal have not been disclosed. This reflects the trading partner's request for confidentiality, and the related information will remain undisclosed until the end of 2027. The company plans to disclose the details on the first business day after the deferral period ends.

■ Whether the Market Rally Continues on the 20th Is Key

Despite starting weak and finishing higher, the key point to watch is whether the market can sustain its rebound in trading on the 20th.
