Bukwang Pharmaceutical's consolidated third-quarter operating profit was provisionally tallied at 2.161 billion won, up 120.7% from a year earlier.

According to the provisional consolidated earnings announced by Bukwang Pharmaceutical on the 23rd, third-quarter revenue came to 57.973 billion won, up 21.2% year-on-year. Compared with the previous quarter, revenue rose 1.7% and operating profit rose 53.3%.

By profit item, third-quarter profit from continuing operations before income tax expense was 1.49 billion won, up 21.7% from a year earlier but down 18.9% from the previous quarter. Net income fell to 847 million won, down 43.3% year-on-year and 39.0% quarter-on-quarter. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company was 832 million won, down 45.6% year-on-year and 40.7% quarter-on-quarter.

On a cumulative basis for the first three quarters of this year, revenue totaled 162.737 billion won, up 17.8% from the same period last year. However, cumulative operating profit was 4.675 billion won, down 22.2% year-on-year. During the same period, cumulative profit from continuing operations before income tax expense rose 59.2% to 5.413 billion won, but cumulative net income fell 56.3% to 3.398 billion won. Cumulative net profit attributable to owners of the parent company declined 56.8% to 3.411 billion won.

Meanwhile, Bukwang Pharmaceutical stated that these provisional figures were prepared under Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) and have not been reviewed by an external auditor. As a result, they may differ from the final confirmed results.
