'MZ wannabe icon' group IVE (An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz, and Leeseo) is heightening anticipation ahead of their comeback with the release of a highlight medley. IVE recently posted a highlight medley video for their new release 'Looks Can Kill,' due out on the 26th, through their official SNS channels. The video captured attention, featuring the members' one-of-a-kind visuals from the concept photo shoot along with portions of the audio tracks for all the songs on the album. ■ A Total of 6 Tracks… A Broad Musical Spectrum The album includes the title track of the same name, 'Looks Can Kill,' along with the dark and dreamy 'Mirror Mirror,' the impressively heavy-bass 'SNAKESKIN,' and 'CRUMBS,' which stands out with its rich harmonies. Adding the refreshing 'Girls Girls Girls' and the sophisticated 'Glow Motion,' the album contains a total of six songs, demonstrating a broad musical spectrum. The members' direct participation is also noteworthy. Rei is credited as a lyricist on the title track, while Gaeul and Liz took part in writing 'CRUMBS,' adding a color unique to IVE. In addition, top-tier artists from home and abroad, including Gaeko, Seo Ji-eum, and Zara Larsson, collaborated extensively to raise the album's level of completion. ■ Beyond Cupid and Magical Girl, to 'Girl Hero' The new album 'Looks Can Kill' sees IVE move beyond the cupid and magical girl concepts they have previously showcased, presenting a new ego as a 'girl hero.' The group plans to deliver an independent-minded message that 'anyone can be the protagonist and hero of their own life.' Meanwhile, IVE successfully wrapped up music show performances and a live stage for 'Spotify DIVE Academy' with their pre-release track, and will officially release the new album at 6 p.m. on the 26th as they launch into full-fledged promotional activities.
