Group XLOV (Umuti, Rui, Hyun, Haru) will release their third mini album 'i=!' (I Equals I) through various music streaming sites at 6 p.m. on the 28th, making a full comeback.
The new release focuses on a single choice and the possibilities of parallel worlds that diverge as a result. It delves deeply into the fear and confusion faced at the crossroads of choice, while also raising philosophical questions about the possibilities that were not chosen, signaling an even deeper narrative for the group.
The double title track 'Hush' combines a heavy bass line with an oriental motif and bold sound design. It contrasts a benevolent being that guides people with an opposing being that plants nightmares, expressing the duality of life and portraying the moment frozen by trauma in XLOV's own unique style.
The other title track 'Twosgemchiwawa' is an experimental track based on dreamcore and hyperpop. Intense house rhythms, distorted sounds, and repetitive vocal chops blend together to create an eerie atmosphere. It contains a unique fairy-tale-like imagination of a wolf raised among chihuahuas who believes itself to be a beautiful chihuahua.
The album also includes 'Cat Move,' which captures the provocative charm of a cat through electronic dance, the dreamy unit track 'All Tied Up' by Rui and Haru, and the emotional jazz R&B unit track 'Silence' by Umuti and Hyun. Additionally, a sped-up version of 'Twosgemchiwawa' and instrumental versions of both title tracks bring the total to 8 tracks for listeners.
Attention is focused on what bold attempts and expanded musical capabilities XLOV, who have built a unique concept and solid narrative since their debut single, will demonstrate with this comeback.
Meanwhile, member Hyun was absent from the showcase held that day due to a leg injury sustained during practice. Their agency explained that they plan to decide on future comeback activities based on his recovery progress.
XLOV's third mini album 'i=!' will be released at 6 p.m. today (the 28th) through various music streaming sites.
