Sanghyeon of ALPHA DRIVE ONE has been selected as K-pop's representative maknae, taking first place in the 'Best Position Match-Maknae' vote organized by the global fandom platform UPICK.
UPICK conducted a preliminary vote on its official X (formerly Twitter) account targeting the maknae members of various K-pop groups to determine the finalists. Sanghyeon of ALPHA DRIVE ONE, EXO's Sehun, KIIKIZ's Yuki, and RIIZE's Anton advanced to the final round. In the final vote, Sanghyeon clinched victory after a close contest with EXO's Sehun.
The vote was held around the theme of the charms possessed by maknae members of K-pop idol groups. Sanghyeon has won fans' love with his expressiveness on stage and bright charm, and has shown a multifaceted side in his interactions with fans. This result is regarded as an achievement proving that his unique personality as a maknae has been recognized.
As a winning benefit, an advertisement will be displayed on a large media billboard at the Atrium of Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. A congratulatory video for Sanghyeon's win, created directly by fans, is scheduled to be broadcast on the billboard, commemorating his award and conveying the support of the fans who participated in the vote.
Meanwhile, ALPHA DRIVE ONE made a comeback with the digital single 'Take To Me' on October 22 and is currently in the second week of music show promotions.
