As of November 7, Korea time, the international gold price on the New York Mercantile Exchange stood at $4,074.90 per ounce, down $38.60 (-0.94%) from the previous day. Recently, the international gold price fell below $3,900 per ounce before rebounding to briefly recover the $4,100 level, but has since slipped back below $4,100.

Domestic gold prices (as of the same day) showed the Korea Gold Exchange buying pure gold (3.75g) at 784,000 won and selling at 662,000 won. According to Geumsise.com, the buy price was 778,000 won and the sell price 673,000 won.

A key variable to watch is U.S. interest rates. With U.S. nonfarm payrolls rising by 165,000 in October and other strong indicators, forecasts suggest the probability of a rate hike will increase. According to the CME FedWatch, the futures market sees a 74.8% chance of a rate increase at the December Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.

Against this backdrop, attention is focused on the future direction of gold prices. As international gold prices can be influenced by U.S. interest rates, their trend warrants close monitoring.
