Actor Lee Sung-shin has been cast in the new short drama 'Check Mate' on the short-form drama platform Lezhin Snack.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name by author Tan, 'Check Mate' depicts the complex psychology and conflict between two individuals intertwined with inferiority complexes, obsession, and desire.

In the drama, Lee Sung-shin takes on the role of Jung Eun-sung. Jung Eun-sung was an unrivaled number one thanks to innate talent, but lives with scars from the past following a certain incident. As a character who appears relaxed on the outside but does not easily reveal his true feelings, Lee Sung-shin plans to portray this multifaceted persona through delicate emotional expression and restrained acting.

In the poster and trailer released on May 26, Lee Sung-shin created an intense atmosphere alongside his co-star Chun Woo-jin, heightening anticipation for the main feature with lines that exude a cool presence.

Lee Sung-shin debuted as a model in 2018, gaining attention on various fashion show stages such as Seoul Fashion Week, and has expanded his scope of activities by appearing in numerous TV CFs and starring in the music video for Nerd Connection. Following modeling, commercials, and music videos, extreme attention is being focused on his acting transformation as he takes on the challenge of a short drama.
