Yeonjun of the group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) released his 2nd solo mini album 'NO LABELS: PART 02' at 1 PM on the 10th, kicking off full-scale comeback promotions.
On the 9th, the day before the release, Yeonjun held a release party at Layer Studio 11 in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Arriving in an ice cream truck, he performed new tracks for the first time, including the title track 'Ice Cream,' as well as 'Vanilla' and 'Long Way Long Ride.' Fellow TXT members made a surprise visit to the event to show their support, and fans responded enthusiastically by singing along to the pre-released chorus.
'NO LABELS' Series: An Expanded Musical Spectrum
This new release is the second chapter of 'NO LABELS,' a project that captures Yeonjun's identity as a solo artist. While his 1st mini album 'NO LABELS: PART 01,' released last year, proved his potential for solo activities, this album showcases an expanded musical spectrum and a more distinct individuality.
The album contains a total of six tracks, including the title track 'Ice Cream,' along with 'Vanilla,' 'Clumsy But Again (Baby Wassup?),' 'No More Disco,' 'Fxxking Star,' and 'Long Way Long Ride.' Yeonjun not only participated in creating the choreography for the title track but also received songwriting credits for two tracks, demonstrating his capabilities as an artist.
The title track 'Ice Cream' depicts a cool relationship that is sweet to each other while maintaining certain boundaries, making it a refreshing summer song aimed at this season.
Yeonjun Q&A: "Aimed to Capture Diverse Music and a Relaxed Vibe Compared to the Previous Work"
In a Q&A shared through his agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, Yeonjun revealed his thoughts on the comeback and the album preparation process. He stated that he tried to include more diverse music and a relaxed vibe compared to his previous work.
Regarding 'Ice Cream,' which he chose after much deliberation following the intense title track 'Talk to You' from his previous release, he expressed confidence, saying it is "the song that can best show my color and both my inner and outer sides." He explained that for 'Clumsy But Again (Baby Wassup?),' which he participated in writing, he used his imagination to write the lyrics naturally. He also noted that he put effort into honestly capturing the difficult emotions he had kept hidden for 'Long Way Long Ride.'
Finally, Yeonjun shared that rather than aiming for grand results, his goal for this promotion is for it to be an opportunity to grow one step further and to become more honest with himself. He then expressed his gratitude to his fandom, MOA, for waiting for a long time, adding that he hopes this album will be music that can be enjoyed comfortably.
