The women's baseball team Black Queens has finalized the recruitment of five new players through a fierce tryout ahead of the start of Channel A's 'Baseball Queen 2' Season 2.

This season's tryout saw fierce competition, with 308 applicants from 47 sports applying. Among them, 18 who passed the preliminary test participated in the on-site evaluation, which focused on their readiness for actual game situations, including infield defense and batting skills.

Park Min-seo, Choi Hye-bin, Kim Na-young, Kim Se-hyun, and Song Min-ji made the final list of successful candidates. In particular, Park Min-seo, who participated from Group 4, set the record for the youngest female home run in Little League baseball before switching to golf. In this evaluation, she showcased overwhelming skills in pitching, batting, and defense across all categories, earning unanimous selection as the No. 1 pick. Along with her, softball's Choi Hye-bin, field hockey's Kim Na-young, tennis' Kim Se-hyun, and badminton's Song Min-ji became the newest members of the team.

The on-site evaluation highlighted the potential of applicants from various sports backgrounds. Participants from each group — including fencing's Yoon Ji-soo, soccer's Kang Soo-jin, handball's Kim Seol-hee, taekwondo's Eom Ji-min, and field hockey's Kim Na-young from Group 1, tennis and badminton players from Group 2, and javelin and softball players from Group 3 — demonstrated the pitching, hitting, and throwing abilities honed in their respective sports. Notably, women's soccer legend Jeon Ga-eul and KLPGA five-time career winner Kim Si-won (Kim Min-sun) also took on the challenge but unfortunately did not make the final roster. With the addition of five new players to the 12 original founding members, the Black Queens have significantly strengthened their squad.

Director Choo Shin-soo expressed his determination, saying, "The Black Queens will become a long-lasting team, and we will look forward to the day we meet again," pledging to build an even stronger team in the two weeks remaining until the Season 2 opener. The Season 2 opening game featuring the newly revamped Black Queens will air on Channel A's 'Baseball Queen 2' on the 16th at 10 p.m.
