SK Square (402340) is showing a strong upward trend as a Volatility Interruption (VI) was triggered simultaneously with the opening of the regular trading session on the 15th.

A dynamic VI was triggered immediately after the regular session opened at 9:00 a.m. that day. In the Nextrade (NXT) pre-market session held ahead of the regular session, dynamic VI was also triggered twice in succession, showing signs of preheating. The first was triggered at 8:00 a.m. and lifted at 8:02 a.m., and immediately at 8:02 a.m., the second VI was triggered and lifted at 8:04 a.m.

With VI triggered a total of three times this morning alone — twice in pre-market trading and once right after the regular session opened — investor attention is intensifying. As the price linkage between the pre-market and regular sessions has strengthened recently, it is analyzed that an influx of buying orders before the market opened expanded volatility.

As of 9:01 a.m., SK Square is trading at 1,329,000 won on Nextrade, up 139,000 won (11.68%) from the previous trading day, posting double-digit gains.

However, the VI trigger is merely a system that temporarily switches trading to a single-price auction method to mitigate excessive chasing by investors when prices fluctate beyond a certain level, and does not indicate the future direction of the stock price. Investors are advised to take a cautious approach, taking into account the possibility of expanded intraday volatility.
