Ecopro Group Stocks Plunge Across the Board... Battery Sector Sell-Off Spreads Amid Joint Weakness in KOSPI and KOSDAQ

The entire Ecopro group is falling across the board, recording losses. As the domestic stock market continues its steep decline, selling pressure is rapidly spreading to secondary battery-related stocks.

As of 11:30 a.m. on the 16th, Ecopro is trading at 80,300 won, down 7.06% from the previous trading day. Ecopro BM is down 6.45% at 113,100 won, Ecopro Materials is down 4.38% at 35,950 won, and Ecopro HN is down 6.12% at 25,300 won.

At the same time, both major indices remained on a steep downward trajectory. The KOSPI plunged to 6,819.63, down 464.78 points (6.38%) from the previous day, while the KOSDAQ fell to 793.07, down 36.36 points (4.38%), with both markets recording deep losses.

Despite the U.S. June Producer Price Index (PPI) released overnight coming in below market expectations and signaling cooling inflation, the domestic stock market failed to embrace it as strong upward momentum. The U.S. June Consumer Price Index (CPI) released on the 14th had also signaled a slowdown. With risk appetite shrinking across the broader market, profit-taking sell-offs are continuing in growth stocks, including secondary battery stocks.

As stock market volatility expands, investors are closely watching how far the short-term correction in Ecopro group stocks will go and whether awareness of excessive declines will lead to a rebound.
