The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF, 'Bucofe') has officially entered festival season, successfully holding the launch ceremony for its volunteer corps, 'Cobongs.'

Organized by the Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee, the 14th Bucofe will run for 10 days from August 21 to 30. As part of preparations to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival, the 'Cobongs' launch ceremony was held on the 24th.

Executive Chairman Kim Jun-ho and 35 volunteers attended the event. In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Kim expressed his gratitude for the volunteer corps' dedication. Two representatives of the volunteer corps then took their oath, and Chairman Kim presented them with official Bucofe merchandise in encouragement. Muhak (Joheunday) CEO Lee Jong-soo also sent a message of support. Participants concluded the event with a group photo to reaffirm their commitment.

In the second part of the ceremony, volunteers received safety management training, including performance and event briefings, operational duties, and emergency first aid.

Chairman Kim Jun-ho said, "You are the real stars of this festival. Your efforts combined complete Bucofe," adding, "It is because of you that the festival can shine. I give the biggest round of applause to the Cobongs."

Over the past 14 years, the Busan International Comedy Festival has contributed to spreading comedy culture and expanding opportunities for citizens to enjoy cultural events. Going forward, it plans to continue efforts to build a sustainable comedy platform integrating performance, creation, and education, discover new comedians, and revitalize the planning, production, and distribution of comedy content.

This year's festival will kick off with the 'Malja Show & Gag Concert Gala Show,' followed by performances by domestic and international comedians across various locations in Busan. Tickets are available for purchase through NOL Interpark.
