KBS 2TV's Saturday-Sunday miniseries 'The Perfection of Marriage' recorded a peak viewership rating of 9.2% per minute and 7.5% nationwide with its 8th episode, renewing its own all-time high.

In this episode, the story unfolded as Kang Tae-ju (played by Namkoong Min) traced the connection between his father-in-law Ko Dong-chan's (played by Jang Kwang) illegal fetal stem cell project and the kidnapping of his wife, Ko Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol).

■ Released from Detention, Heads to Kim Kyung-ae's Hospital Room... Ha Jung-soo Stopped

After being released from the detention center, Kang Tae-ju headed to the hospital room of Kim Kyung-ae (played by Lee Sang-hee) and stopped Ha Jung-soo (played by Jeon Kwang-jin), who had been attempting to kill her. Under Kang Tae-ju's questioning, Ha Jung-soo only replied, 'I just did what I was told,' and left the room.

In a flashback scene, Ko Dong-chan was shown using stem cells extracted from aborted fetuses on patients, claiming that the success rate had increased. He justified the illegal procedure, which was conducted without patient consent.

Kang Tae-ju expressed his outrage, saying, 'The patients consented to surgery believing they were using their own stem cells. This is clearly illegal.' Ko Dong-chan retorted, 'Thanks to those illegal acts, countless people were able to move and stand again.' When Kang Tae-ju declared he would wash his hands of the project, Ko Dong-chan applied pressure, saying, 'Se-yoon will have to bear the burden of all of it.'

■ Spots Ko Se-yoon in Front of In-Laws' Home but Avoids Her

In the present timeline, Ko Dong-chan shouted at Ko Se-yoon that Kang Tae-ju was deeply involved in the case and stormed out of the house, with Ko Se-yoon following behind. Kang Tae-ju saw Ko Se-yoon in front of the in-laws' home but left the scene, recalling Ko Dong-chan's words.

Meanwhile, the police discovered contact records with a hospital figure on Kim Kyung-ae's phone and also confirmed that Ha Jung-soo was being threatened by loan sharks.

■ Confrontation in the Hospital Director's Office... 'What Is Your Relationship with Kim Kyung-ae?'

In the hospital director's office, Kang Tae-ju pressed Ko Dong-chan, saying, 'You knew all along, didn't you? Kim Kyung-ae? What exactly is your relationship with Kim Kyung-ae, Father? A woman who knew the project's secrets kidnapped my wife. Is that a coincidence?' Ko Dong-chan fired back, 'Are you saying I ordered someone to kidnap my own daughter? Ask that woman when she wakes up.'

At the end of episode 8, the broadcast showed Kang Tae-ju discovering the dead body of Ha Jung-soo next to a bottle of potassium chloride and a syringe on the floor.

■ Noh Man-hee Hints at a Murdered Body... Takes Sundae Soup Shop Grandmother Hostage

Noh Man-hee (played by Kim Dae-myung) changed clothes at a house and then spoke toward a closet, hinting that a murdered body was hidden there. He took the grandmother of a sundae soup shop hostage and threatened her nurse granddaughter to check on Kim Kyung-ae's condition.

The nurse reported Kim Kyung-ae's status to Noh Man-hee, and upon hearing that 'Kang Tae-ju had come to the hospital room,' Noh Man-hee revealed eyes full of murderous intent.

After the broadcast, viewers responded to the acting of Namkoong Min and Kim Dae-myung with comments such as 'The acting is truly overwhelming' and 'It's real-life horror itself.'
