Axvis announced on the 29th that it has been selected as the lead research and development institution for a national project organized by the Innopolis Foundation under the Ministry of Science and ICT, and has signed the relevant agreement.
The project aims to develop and globally commercialize an on-device AI platform based on real-time sensor signal processing for high-reliability quality control in laser processing. Through this project, Axvis plans to develop an on-device AI platform based on real-time sensor signal processing and achieve global commercialization. The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) is participating as a joint research institution.
The details of the project cost and R&D schedule are as follows. The total project cost is KRW 5,781.25 million, consisting of KRW 4,625 million in government funding and KRW 1,156.25 million in private contributions (cash and in-kind). The amount allocated to Axvis is KRW 3,468.75 million in government funding and KRW 1,156.25 million in private contributions. This is equivalent to 6.4% of the company's equity capital (KRW 5,423,682,129).
Research and development will be conducted over approximately two and a half years, from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028, with the agreement signed on July 28, 2026.
The company added that the R&D period and project cost may be changed through government policy adjustments and mutual agreement between the contracting parties. It also noted that the decision (confirmation) date indicated in the disclosure is based on the actual date of signing the agreement.
