On July 31, the last trading day of the month, domestic nuclear power-related stocks rose across the board, demonstrating strong investor sentiment. As the domestic stock market rebounded sharply led by semiconductors, buying pressure flowed into the nuclear power theme, and major stocks all turned green. In particular, the KOSPI recorded its largest single-day gain in history on that day, and overall market investor sentiment improved significantly.

By stock, Woojin closed at 13,190 won, up 18.93% from the previous trading day, and Woori Technology also finished trading at 9,030 won, up 16.66%. Orbitech (+14.94%, 4,115 won), Doosan Enerbility (+11.12%, 66,900 won), and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Engineering & Construction (+9.38%, 87,400 won) recorded gains close to double digits, driving the strength of nuclear power stocks. In addition, Sungan Industry (up 5.92% to 21,450 won), Korea Electric Power Corporation (up 4.53% to 34,550 won), Geumhwa PSC (up 4.39% to 32,050 won), and KEPCO KPS (up 2.64% to 44,600 won) all closed higher.

Investors are closely watching whether nuclear power stocks, which ended strong on the last trading day of July, can continue their upward trend on the first trading day of August.

Meanwhile, the New York stock market closed higher on the 31st (local time), and its impact on the domestic stock market on the next trading day is also drawing attention. On that day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 52,485.03, up 0.53%; the S&P 500 Index closed at 7,489.72, up 0.70%; and the NASDAQ Composite Index closed at 25,373.85, up 1.00%.
