Dongjin Semichem disclosed preliminary earnings for the second quarter of this year, recording a consolidated operating profit of KRW 59.3 billion, up 38.9% year-on-year.

According to a regulatory filing on the 6th, consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2026 stood at KRW 346.873 billion, a 17.5% increase from the same period last year. Operating profit rose 38.9% to KRW 59.29 billion. However, compared to the previous quarter, revenue increased by 5.7% while operating profit decreased by 11.0%. First-quarter operating profit was KRW 66.593 billion.

Profitability metrics also improved significantly. Profit before income tax from continuing operations surged 2,928.5% year-on-year to KRW 89.946 billion, while net income soared 1,450.6% to KRW 84.971 billion. Net income attributable to owners of the parent company jumped 1,153.9% to KRW 86.141 billion.

On a cumulative first-half basis, revenue and operating profit totaled KRW 674.96 billion and KRW 125.883 billion, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 15.4% and 39.2%. Cumulative net income reached KRW 151.87 billion (up 265.1%), while net income attributable to owners of the parent company stood at KRW 154.4 billion (up 248.0%).

The company explained that these figures are preliminary results based on consolidated financial statements prior to external audit and may be subject to change during the future accounting audit process. It also noted that it retroactively adjusted prior-period and year-on-year results to reflect profit and loss from discontinued operations following the divestiture of its Chinese subsidiary's stake last year.
