Daedong has achieved its highest-ever first-half performance, setting a new quarterly record in the second quarter of this year.
On a consolidated basis, Daedong recorded revenue of 844.8 billion won and an operating profit of 47.3 billion won for the first half of this year. This represents a 1.1% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year (835.8 billion won). Notably, Q2 revenue reached 467.1 billion won, while operating profit surged 64.3% year-on-year to 41.2 billion won, yielding an operating margin of 8.8%. Net income also reached 21.4 billion won, successfully turning to profit from a net loss in the first quarter.
Despite the contraction of the global agricultural machinery market, Daedong sustained its growth momentum by enhancing product competitiveness and expanding distribution channels across North American, European, and domestic markets. While the North American agricultural machinery market shrank by 13% and the domestic market by 3.4% compared to the first half of last year, Daedong broke through by expanding its product lineup from its existing small tractor-focused business to include mid-to-large tractors and compact construction equipment (CCE).
■ North America: Mid-to-Large Tractor Sales Up 55%
In the North American market, sales of high-value-added mid-to-large tractors, including the HX model, increased by 55% year-on-year in the first half, and compact construction equipment sales also grew by 28%. The company secured 30 new dealers, expanding its total network to 600, and dealers newly acquired over the past two years drove 13% of the North American subsidiary's revenue in the first half of this year.
■ Europe: Revenue Up 31%, Market Share Reaches 2.5%
In Europe, strengthened sales of mid-to-large tractors also yielded results. The European subsidiary's revenue for the first half reached 74.1 billion won, a 31% increase year-on-year, and its market share rose by 0.2 percentage points to 2.5%.
■ Domestic: Market Share Enters the 40% Range Following Regional Dealer Restructuring
In the domestic market, Daedong enhanced the competitiveness of its sales and service channels in line with the launch of AI tractors and the expansion of precision agriculture services. As a result of restructuring its distribution channels centered around regional dealers, its domestic market share entered the 40% range, with 18 regional dealers currently in operation.
Parts revenue generated after equipment sales is also showing steady growth. Parts revenue for the first half of this year amounted to 56.7 billion won, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. Daedong is continuously expanding its points of contact with equipment and customers based on a connected platform, thereby strengthening its recurring revenue structure linked to parts and services.
Meanwhile, Daedong Vice Chairman Won Woo-hyun stated, "We will designate this year as the inaugural year of a major transition toward AI and robotics, and we will more aggressively pursue future businesses such as precision agriculture, AI agricultural machinery, and agricultural robots, building on the competitiveness and achievements accumulated in our existing business."
