The KBS2 Saturday-Sunday mini-series 'One Hundred Won Lawyer' has come to a close with its own highest viewership rating of 8.8%. This surpasses the record set by 'Twelve' (8.1%) in August of last year, marking the highest viewership rating in the history of KBS Saturday-Sunday mini-series.

This drama is a crime thriller in which Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgoong Min), a neurosurgeon facing a divorce crisis, becomes entangled in the kidnapping of his wife, Go Se-yoon (played by Lee El), and fiercely clashes with the criminal, No Man-hee (played by Kim Myung-min). In particular, the fact that a drunk husband's remarks led to his wife's kidnapping, and the desperate struggle he endures to save her, drew attention as a development that differentiated it from existing thrillers. Additionally, the setup of revealing the perpetrator's identity from the early stages added tension to the narrative. The conflicts among the main characters reached their climax in the final episode. Kang Tae-joo, aware that No Man-hee's wife, Kim Kyung-ae (played by Lee Sang-hee), was in a critical condition, stepped up for emergency surgery, fulfilling his duty as a medical professional. No Man-hee promised to hand over evidence of his crimes and turn himself in on the condition of the surgery, and was arrested by the police after Kim Kyung-ae safely completed the operation. Simultaneously, Choi Chi-woong (played by Woo Ji-hyun) infiltrated the hospital and attacked Go Se-yoon with a weapon, but Go Se-yoon resisted until the end, and the situation was brought to a close with the arrival of the police. Kang Tae-joo sustained severe injuries to his hand while trying to stop No Man-hee from taking his own life, but he subsequently completed Go Se-yoon's surgery safely, saving her life. After all the events were resolved, Go Se-yoon realized that Kang Tae-joo had genuinely tried to let her go. However, the two ultimately chose divorce for the sake of each other's happiness. The drama concluded with the two reuniting at a forest burial site on the anniversary of their daughter Ha-yoon's death, walking together along a forest path, leaving a deep and lingering impression. In the drama, Kim Myung-min chillingly portrayed the dual nature of No Man-hee, a killer disguised as an ordinary computer academy instructor. Having built tension with only his voice in the early part of the series, he left a strong impression after his identity was revealed by portraying acting that fluctuated between a gentle smile and madness. In the latter half, it was revealed that the starting point of all his wicked deeds was the desperation to save his wife, evoking complex emotions from the viewers. For this role, Kim Myung-min delivered a passionate performance, sparing no effort in the frozen reservoir chase scene and the brawl. The production team expressed their gratitude to the actors, staff, and viewers who created the drama together. Meanwhile, following 'One Hundred Won Lawyer,' 'A Romance You Can't Have,' starring Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin, is scheduled to premiere on the 12th of next month.
