JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Divine Bead' has released its first teaser video ahead of its premiere this coming December, officially entering its broadcast countdown.

Consisting of a total of 14 episodes, the series will be simultaneously released to both domestic and international audiences through Coupang Play and Amazon Prime Video.

A Trusted Lineup of Production Team and Cast

'Divine Bead' is a project that brings together director Jung Dae-yoon, who has proven his sensational directing skills with works such as 'Reborn Rich,' 'W: Two Worlds,' and 'She Was Pretty,' and writer Jung Hyun-min, who penned numerous hit dramas including 'Jeong Do-jeon,' 'Nokdu Flower,' and 'Assembly.' In front of the camera, a roster of renowned actors including Ahn Bo-hyun, Lee Sung-min, Su-hyun, Ha Yoon-kyung, and Yoon Kyun-sang have signed on.

1258 Goryeo: The Resistance of Heroes Amidst War

The story is set in 1258 Goryeo, when the war with Mongolia has reached its final stages after raging for 30 years. As defeat looms, it depicts the heroic struggle of an escort squad that throws itself into the battlefield under orders to reclaim Goryeo's sacred relic, the 'Gwaneum Boju,' and the story of an imperial princess determined to save them.

First Teaser Condenses Fierce Battlefield Spectacle... 'Salvation Hanging on the Edge of a Blade'

The first teaser video, released on the 11th, opens with the narration of Baek-gyeol (played by Ahn Bo-hyun): 'In the early 13th century, the world empire Mongolia invaded Goryeo.' As the sound of drums heightens the tension, blood-stained battlefields, fierce combat, collapsing fortresses, and fallen soldiers appear in succession, vividly conveying the crisis facing Goryeo.

Even the scene where Choi-gu (played by Lee Sung-min), the commander of the Yabyeolcho special forces who has navigated countless battlefields, falls adds to the brutality of the war. As the order to reclaim the Gwaneum Boju is issued, a life-or-death journey begins, centered around escort squad commander Baek-gyeol, alongside the seasoned veteran Choi-gu and guide Geol-seung (played by Ha Yoon-kyung). Joining this vortex of fate is Wang-hee (played by Su-hyun), the youngest daughter of the emperor and Princess of Gyeonghwa, further heightening anticipation for the grand saga.

The teaser compactly captures blockbuster-level battlefield spectacle, thrilling action, grand visual aesthetics, and the solemn fate of the characters. In particular, the phrase 'Salvation hanging on the edge of a blade' appears, leaving a lingering impression about what those carrying out the escort mission will ultimately be able to protect.
