The KOSPI rose more than 1% in the regular session on the 9th, breaking above the 7,050 level. The index closed at 7,051.64, up 97.12 points (1.40%) from the previous trading day. Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, SK Hynix and LG Energy Solution showed strength.

LG Energy Solution recorded the highest gain among the top-ranked stocks, surging 22,500 won (6.46%) to close at 371,000 won. SK Hynix also rose 63,000 won (3.51%) to finish at 1,856,000 won. In addition, Samsung Electro-Mechanics climbed 34,000 won (2.48%) to 1,404,000 won, and SK Square ended the session up 7,000 won (0.62%) at 1,138,000 won. Hyundai Motor advanced 3,000 won (0.78%) to 388,000 won, and Samsung Biologics finished trading up 12,000 won (0.83%) at 1,452,000 won.

In contrast, Samsung Electronics closed unchanged from the previous session at 269,500 won, while Samsung Electronics Preferred fell 900 won (0.45%) to end at 197,500 won. KB Financial Group dropped 1,700 won (0.98%) to 172,000 won, and Samsung C&T declined 6,000 won (1.57%) to close at 376,000 won, leaving the top-cap stocks with mixed results.

With the KOSPI surpassing the 7,000 level and reaching the 7,050 mark, attention is focused on whether the upward momentum will continue and break through the 7,100 level.
