Domestic gold prices in South Korea were compiled on October 1, 2026, based on figures from Geumsise.com. On this day, pure gold (3.75g) traded at 795,000 won when buying and 703,000 won when selling, unchanged from the previous day.
Gold prices by karat also remained in a lull. 18K gold stood at 519,000 won when selling, identical to the previous day, while 14K gold also showed no change at 403,000 won when selling.
In contrast, platinum showed an upward trend. Platinum rose 1,000 won from the previous day to 268,000 won when selling, and increased 2,000 won to 324,000 won when buying. Compared to prior prices, this represents a rise of approximately 0.37% on the selling side and approximately 0.62% on the buying side.
Silver recorded a decline. Silver fell 350 won from the previous day to 10,400 won when selling, and dropped 150 won to 10,800 won when buying. In terms of percentage change, this translates to declines of approximately 3.26% on the selling side and approximately 1.37% on the buying side.
Along with precious metal prices, attention is also focused on U.S. interest rate trends. The yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury exceeded 5.3% on the 30th (local time). According to Tradeweb, the 10-year Treasury yield rose to as high as 5.304% during the session. Earlier, the U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) data released on September 30 Korean time came in below expectations, showing a slowdown. However, with the 10-year Treasury yield showing strength, interest is mounting over which direction U.S. interest rates will move in the future.
