A Level-1 circuit breaker (CB) has been triggered in the KOSDAQ market, as the KOSDAQ index plunged more than 8% from the previous day.

According to a disclosure by the Korea Exchange on the 15th, trading in the KOSDAQ market was halted for 20 minutes at 12:23:13 p.m. after the KOSDAQ Composite Stock Price Index remained down more than 8% from the previous day's close for one minute.

At the time of activation, the KOSDAQ index stood at 757.88, down 66.00 points (8.01%) from the previous day's close of 823.88.

According to the disclosure, if the KOSDAQ index falls more than 15% from the previous day's close after the Level-1 activation, and remains an additional 1% or more below the Level-1 trigger index for one minute, a Level-2 circuit breaker will be triggered. In that case, trading in the KOSDAQ market will again be halted for 20 minutes.

If, after the Level-2 activation, the KOSDAQ index falls more than 20% from the previous day's close and remains an additional 1% or more below the Level-2 trigger index for one minute, a Level-3 circuit breaker will be triggered, and in that case trading in the KOSDAQ market will be closed for the day.

The Korea Exchange stated that the regulatory basis for the temporary trading halt is Article 26 of the KOSDAQ Market Business Regulations and Article 31 of the Enforcement Rules of the same regulations.
