Amid a severe market downturn in which circuit breakers have been triggered consecutively on the domestic stock market, semiconductor substrate-related stocks are plunging across the board. Most stocks are posting double-digit declines, clearly reflecting a contraction in overall market investor sentiment.

■ Major Semiconductor Substrate Stock Movements (as of 12:49 p.m. on the 15th)

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is trading at 1,143,000 won, down 16.81% from the previous day. DaeDuck Electronics is down 15.03% at 123,200 won, and Isu Petasys is down 14.93% at 94,600 won.

Korea Circuit is down 14.91% at 64,500 won, and Gigavis is down 14.78% at 111,000 won. Simmtech fell 14.04% to 121,200 won, and Duksan Hi-Metal dropped 13.75% to 10,800 won.

Neophutis plunged 15.40% to 16,920 won, and DSView is trading down 11.32% at 10,650 won. LG Innotek is down 10.99% at 393,000 won, and Tae Sung is down 9.78% at 52,600 won.

The day's decline is characterized by the fact that it is not a correction limited to specific stocks but has spread across related stocks as a whole. As the domestic stock market shakes significantly, pressure is mounting on the share prices of major technology stocks, including semiconductor substrate stocks.

■ KOSPI and KOSDAQ Circuit Breakers Triggered in Succession; Trading Halted for 20 Minutes

According to the Korea Exchange, a Level 1 circuit breaker was triggered in the KOSDAQ market at 12:23:13 p.m. this afternoon. Subsequently, at 12:38 p.m., a Level 1 circuit breaker was also triggered in the KOSPI market, resulting in trading being halted for 20 minutes in each market.

Attention has turned to whether the KOSPI and KOSDAQ can narrow their losses after trading resumes, and whether semiconductor substrate stocks can escape their downward trend.
