Seoul Semiconductor (046890) saw its share price surge in after-hours trading on the 28th, climbing above the 10,000-won mark.

As of 6:10 p.m. on the 28th, Seoul Semiconductor was trading at 10,410 won, up 2,230 won from the previous day, a gain of 27.26%. During the regular session that day, the stock had hovered around the 8,000-won level, but in after-hours trading it rode a steep upward trend, breaking through the 10,000-won mark in a short time and sharply expanding its gains.

Market attention is focused on whether this surge can carry over into the next trading day, the 29th. Key points to watch are whether the strong buying seen in the after-hours market will extend into the regular session, or whether profit-taking sell orders will emerge after the sharp rise. It remains to be seen whether Seoul Semiconductor can hold the 10,000-won level and attempt further gains in the session on the 29th.

Meanwhile, Seoul Semiconductor announced on the same day that it has developed the world's first ultra-compact white LED that does not use rare earth elements, drawing attention to the related issue as well.
