As of 10:57 a.m. on the 16th, Hyundai Pharm (004310) is trading at 8,370 won, up 1,660 won (24.74%) from the previous trading day, showing a strong upward trend in the 20% range. With massive buying pressure flowing in from the opening of the session, the stock price easily broke through the 8,000-won mark.

As the stock price surged, short-term volatility increased, prompting consecutive activations of the Volatility Interruption (VI). According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), Hyundai Pharm had its VI triggered a total of twice during the regular trading session. The first VI was activated at 9:13:33 a.m. and lifted at 9:15:50 a.m., followed by a second activation at 10:54:46 a.m. that was released at 10:56:56 a.m.

VI is a system that temporarily switches to single-price trading for a certain period to prevent excessive chasing by investors when the price of an individual stock changes rapidly in a short period of time.

Hyundai Pharm, which has been drawing investor attention by continuing its sharp rally in the 20% range, has seen its stock price volatility further amplified due to the consecutive VI activations. As the stock shows signs of short-term overheating, market attention is focused on whether the upward trend can continue.
