Derivative Adjustments Following Alteogen's Free Share Issuance: Base Prices for Stock Futures and Options to Change Starting August 5

The Derivatives Market Division announced on the 23rd that it will implement market measures for Alteogen stock futures and options in accordance with Alteogen's decision to issue free shares. These measures are intended to reflect the 'ex-rights' adjustment resulting from the free share issuance, with an effective date of August 5, 2026 (the ex-rights date).

According to the Korea Exchange, base prices will be adjusted for stock futures and options across all delivery months. The key adjustments are as follows.

Adjustment of Base Prices and Trading Multipliers The base price will be calculated by reflecting the adjusted base price of the underlying stock, and the trading multiplier will also be adjusted accordingly. For stock futures, the adjustment applies to contracts with open positions as of the market close on August 4, 2026, while all delivery months are subject to adjustment for options. The trading multiplier will be revised based on the closing price on the day prior to the ex-rights date and the adjusted base price of the underlying stock.

Option Strike Prices and New Listings For options, strike prices across all delivery months will be adjusted. As a result of the trading multiplier change, new strike prices applying the standard trading multiplier of 10 will be established in addition to the existing adjusted strike prices. The number of new listings will be at least nine for each of the front three delivery months and at least three for the fourth through sixth delivery months.

Delisting of Futures Spreads In addition, futures spread contracts involving different trading multipliers between the near-month and far-month contracts will be delisted.

However, there will be no separate measures regarding adjustments to open interest quantities, changes to final trading days, non-listing of new delivery months, or trading suspensions.

The Korea Exchange plans to provide additional details on the specific measures on August 4, 2026, the trading day prior to the ex-rights date. It also added that this plan may be subject to change depending on the progress of Alteogen's free share issuance.
