The KOSPI rebounded from the previous market rout, recovering the 6,750 level to close the session. While large-cap semiconductor stocks led the index higher, some top market-cap stocks showed weakness, resulting in a differentiated market performance across individual stocks.
KOSPI Closes Up 0.97% at 6,755.75 According to the Korea Exchange on the 27th, the KOSPI finished trading at 6,755.75, up 65.13 points (0.97%) from the previous trading day. Although it fluctuated throughout the session, it closed higher, signaling the possibility of a recovery in investor sentiment.
Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Other Semiconductor Stocks Advance Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, semiconductor stocks showed strength, driving the index upward. Samsung Electronics closed at 254,000 won, up 1.80% from the previous trading day, while SK Hynix finished at 1,816,000 won, up 3.24%. Samsung Electronics Preferred Shares also rose 1.52% to 179,800 won.
Meanwhile, SK Square fell 1.17%, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics declined 0.08%, remaining in slightly negative territory.
Automobiles, Batteries, and Biotechs Lead; Financial Stocks Mixed Hyundai Motor closed at 403,000 won, up 0.50%, and LG Energy Solution finished at 333,000 won, up 1.06%. Samsung Biologics also recorded a 1.78% gain.
Financial stocks showed mixed movements. Samsung Life Insurance fell 2.04%, while KB Financial Group closed up 0.64%.
Individual and Institutional Net Buying, Foreigners Net Selling In the market today, buying by individual and institutional investors defended the index, while foreigners engaged in net selling to lock in profits.
