Actress Kim Ji-won has donated 100 million won to Seoul National University Children's Hospital. The funds will be used to support treatment costs for children from low-income families and to improve the hospital ward environment.

Seoul National University Children's Hospital announced on the 10th that Kim Ji-won delivered 100 million won on the 7th, with the purpose of supporting ward environment improvement projects and treatment costs for low-income patients.

Established in 1985 as the first specialized children's university hospital in Asia, Seoul National University Children's Hospital has led the treatment of pediatric patients both domestically and internationally for nearly 40 years. As it deals with severe, rare, and incurable diseases as well as complex conditions such as childhood cancer and leukemia, patients and their families bear significant medical cost burdens due to repeated treatments and surgeries. The need for environmental improvements due to the aging of the wards has also been consistently raised.

This donation will be used to alleviate the financial burden of patients and families who visit Seoul National University Children's Hospital from all across the country for severe, rare, and incurable diseases, and to create a safer and more pleasant treatment environment. The hospital expects the donation to also be of great help in the large-scale ward environment improvement project.

Kim Ji-won decided to make the donation after coming into close contact with the reality of medical staff and pediatric patients through the filming of the drama 'Doctor X.' She stated, "While filming the drama, I heard about the hardworking medical staff and sick children, which led me to decide to donate," adding, "I want to sincerely express my gratitude and support to the medical staff, patients, and their families who are still doing their best."

Chae Jong-hee, Director of Seoul National University Children's Hospital, said, "We will use the donation carefully to help families of patients who are struggling with the burden of medical costs and to ensure that children who visit the hospital with hope from across the country can focus on their treatment in a safe and child-friendly space."
