The KOSDAQ surged more than 4% on the first trading day of October, instantly breaking above the 890 level. All top 10 stocks by market capitalization rose, with some posting double-digit gains.

KOSDAQ Closes at 894.29, Up 4.48%

On October 1, the KOSDAQ closed the regular session at 894.29, up 38.38 points (4.48%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 853.96 and at one point dipped to 851.92 during the session, before steeply expanding its gains. It closed exactly at its intraday high of 894.29, confirming a strong upward trend in the first session of October.

All Top 10 Market-Cap Stocks Rise

All top 10 stocks by market capitalization showed strength. Alteogen closed at 265,000 won, up 10,500 won (4.13%) from the previous session; EcoPro finished at 85,100 won, up 5.58%; and EcoPro BM closed at 114,700 won, up 5.13%. Jusung Engineering rose 3.66% to 241,000 won, while Rainbow Robotics climbed 5.02% to 439,000 won.

Semiconductor Stocks Soar... Rino Industrial Up 10.90%, Biggest Gainer

In particular, semiconductor-related stocks such as Wonik IPS, iTestech (Yiotech), Rino Industrial, and HPSP posted notable gains. Wonik IPS closed up 9.13% at 143,500 won, and iTestech finished up 8.46% at 564,000 won. Rino Industrial soared 10.90% to 81,400 won, recording the highest gain among the top 10 market-cap stocks. Simtech (Shimtech) rose 6.25% to 159,700 won, and HPSP closed up 8.32% at 69,000 won.

With the KOSDAQ showing a 4% surge from the first day of October, attention is focused on whether the index will break through the 900 level and on the trends of major large-cap stocks.
