Hyundai Rotem's consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year was provisionally tallied at 247.074 billion won, down 11.0% from a year earlier.

According to a regulatory filing on the 19th, Hyundai Rotem's Q3 consolidated revenue came to 1.6207 trillion won, up 0.1% from 1.619635 trillion won a year earlier and up 0.9% from the previous quarter's 1.606051 trillion won. Operating profit was 247.074 billion won, down 11.0% from 277.743 billion won in the same period last year, but up 6.3% from the previous quarter's 232.383 billion won.

Other key earnings indicators declined compared to both the year-ago period and the previous quarter. Profit from continuing operations before income tax expense was 238.719 billion won, down 9.2% year-on-year and 4.7% from the previous quarter. Net income was 177.984 billion won, down 10.3% year-on-year and 4.5% from the previous quarter, while net profit attributable to owners of the parent company fell 11.0% year-on-year and 4.7% quarter-on-quarter to 176.644 billion won.

■ Cumulative revenue for January–September up 11.2%, operating profit down 4.7%

Cumulative consolidated revenue from January to September this year totaled 4.684204 trillion won, up 11.2% from 4.21341 trillion won in the same period last year. In contrast, cumulative operating profit was 703.658 billion won, down 4.7% from 738.183 billion won a year earlier.

Cumulative profit from continuing operations before income tax expense rose 6.7% year-on-year to 764.889 billion won. Cumulative net income increased 4.0% to 566.929 billion won, while net profit attributable to owners of the parent company grew 2.9% to 563.305 billion won.

Hyundai Rotem stated that these results are provisional consolidated earnings prepared in accordance with Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS), and noted that some figures may change depending on the external auditor's review of the company and its subsidiaries.
