Samsung SDI (006400) staged a dramatic turnaround during trading on the 19th, posting a double-digit gain.

The stock, which had once slipped below the 500,000-won mark in the morning, climbed above the 580,000-won level in the afternoon, showing a steep rebound. As of 1:05 p.m. on the 19th, Samsung SDI was trading at 588,000 won, up 58,000 won (+10.94%) from the previous session.

■ Intraday Range of 92,500 Won... 18.7% Surge from Low

Samsung SDI opened the day at 519,000 won. As selling pressure expanded during the session, the stock fell to 495,500 won, dipping below the 500,000-won level.

However, the mood changed significantly once the stock turned upward. Samsung SDI recovered all of its intraday losses and then extended its gain to double digits, with the share price now reaching the intraday high of 588,000 won.

Notably, the gap between the intraday low and high stands at 92,500 won. The rise from the low is about 18.7%, showing a considerable price swing within a single day.

■ KOSPI and KOSDAQ Both Higher... Samsung SDI's Gain Stands Out

Korea's two main stock indices are also continuing their upward trend. At the same time, the KOSPI was up 50.50 points (+0.89%) from the previous session at 5,718.55. The KOSDAQ was also trading 5.70 points (+0.71%) higher at 800.48, staying above the 800 mark.

Amid the simultaneous strength of both indices, Samsung SDI's gain far exceeds the KOSPI's rate of increase.

■ Key Focus for the Afternoon Session: Whether Gains Can Be Held

Samsung SDI's main businesses include batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems (ESS). Key variables drawing medium- to long-term attention include demand changes in the global EV market, battery industry conditions, and the expansion of the ESS market.

With the share price dipping below 500,000 won intraday before climbing back above the 580,000-won level, whether the stock can maintain its gains in the afternoon session is expected to be the main focus for investors.
